Six Royal Development Study Centres


His Majesty the King has realized that the million Rai of land in different regions of the country was encountering various chemical and physical problems together with soil deterioration such as peat soil, acidic soil, saline soil and sandy soil. As a result, the farmers faced unproductive yields and sank into poverty. Therefore, His Majesty gave the royal initiatives to establish the Royal Development Study Centres in the areas with soil problems in order to demonstrate the comprehensive development on agriculture, from improving the soil, managing systems for cropping and animal husbandry, developing water sources, restoring the forests to promoting local arts and crafts to generate a supplementary income.


The Six Royal Development Study Centres are as follows:

1) Khao Hin Sorn Royal Development Study Centre in Chachoengsao Province
2) Huai Sai Royal Development Study Centre in Phetchaburi Province
3) Kung Krabaen Bay Royal Development Study Centre in Chanthaburi Province
4) Puparn Royal Development Study Centre in Sakon Nakhon Province
5) Huai Hong Khrai Royal Development Study Centre in Chiang Mai Province
6) Pikun Thong Royal Development Study Centre in Narathiwat Province
